ADULTS

It is somewhat a cultural error to address“adulthood” as one phase in life. In fact, we go through many phases throughout our lives, and many of them as adults. Choosing fields of development and studies, picking professional paths and professions, moving between countries and areas, searching - sometimes exhaustingly- for a fulfilling romantic relationship, relationship crises and breakups, rediscovering our sexuality, becoming parents, losing loved ones, grieving, restarting, growing old, and more..

If we come to think about it, feeling lonely, sad, lost and anxious, are inherent to all of these changes. We cannot truly imagine going through these events without feeling bad at times on the way. And adding on the stress and social expectations of the society in which we live in today makes things even more complicated.

It seems that in the race of life we rarely stop to observe what it happening, unless given the proper time and place. Moreover, it seems as a difficult task to achieve on one's own. This is sometimes where therapy can enter in the picture to give us the room we need to go through these transitions without forgetting ourselves on the way. And i believe that merely considering that a great part of our daily pain is pain of growth, is the pain of life moving forward and placing us in front of new challenges, well, we can already feel better.
